FAMILIES from Hillcrest Christian College have opened their homes to a group of Japanese students as part of its student exchange program.
The 18 students from Shibuya High School in Japan arrived at the Clyde North school on Wednesday 10 March after a long flight and a tour of Melbourne.
The overseas students will spend 10 days attending specially designed ESL (English Second Language) classes with their “buddies” in Year 9 or 10.
They will also get out and about and enjoy an Aussie barbecue and an excursion to Healesville Sanctuary to experience Australian education, culture and lifestyle.
The Hillcrest Christian College students are studying Japanese as part of their curriculum.
