AN APOLOGETIC intruder said sorry before he fled from a house under construction in Berwick last month, when he realised someone was inside.
Police said the man apologised to the person inside and was not threatening or violent when he broke into the Scanlan Street house about 3.40am on 28 February.
Police said the house was undergoing major renovations and the offender would have believed no one was inside.
He did not steal anything.
Police described the man as about six feet tall, 23 to 27 years old and Caucasian. He wore a white top, black jeans and had an earring on his nose or eyebrow.
Anyone with information can contact Detective Sergeant Chris Lewis at Casey CIU on 9705 3114.
