A CULTURAL infusion took over James Cook Primary School last week as the students celebrated Harmony Day.
The Prep to Grade 6 students at the Endeavour Hills school took part in a range of performance arts activities on Wednesday. Teacher Filomena Garner said the students spent the day learning about the history of each culture and did some traditional dancing.
“At each fun-filled interactive performance, the students were enlightened about the history and meaning behind the dances,” Ms Garner said. “The students had a fabulous time dancing and wanted more. Even the parents and teachers took part and joined in the dancing.”
The school has been running Harmony Day for many years.Ms Garner said the school felt it was important to celebrate the day because many of its students were from diverse backgrounds.
