POLICE are calling for witnesses after a Hallam man was seriously injured following a brawl outside a nightclub in Southbank last weekend.
Police said two groups of Asian men started fighting outside a club in Riverside Quay on Saturday about 3am, allegedly armed with weapons including knuckledusters, bottles and iron bars.
The large group then moved toward Southbank Promenade where another assault took place and a man, not involved in the initial altercation, was attacked.
Police said they used capsicum foam on the “aggressive crowd.”
The 19-year-old and a 22-year-old man from Brunswick were both taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Ardeer who was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
