RESIDENTS can bag some great bargains at Casey’s farmers markets.
The Berwick, Pearcedale and Myuna markets provide an opportunity for residents to purchase locally-produced food such as organic seasonal fruit and vegetables, herbs and spices, breads, honey, olives, cheese, jams, condiments and preserves.
Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said the quality and price of the produce at the markets was a real advantage for residents.
“The produce is fresh from the farmer and has been grown locally, so each time you shop at one of the markets you are supporting the local agricultural industry,” Cr Wreford said.
The free Myuna Farm Market is held in Doveton every Thursday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm
The Old Cheese Factory in Berwick is home to the Casey Farmers Market on the fourth Saturday of every month from 8am to 12.30pm. Cost is a gold coin donation.
The Pearcedale Farmers Market runs on the third Saturday of each month from 8am to 1pm. Entry is $2.
