DANCERS from a Narre Warren studio wore their pyjamas instead of their leotards and tights to dance class to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Jessica Solomon, principal of Backstage Dance Academy, said the studio raised $900 for this year’s appeal. For a gold coin donation, the dancers, aged from two-and-a-half to 18, could wear their pyjamas instead of their dancing uniform.
“Most families donated a gold coin but some gave up to $50,” Ms Solomon said. Backstage Dance Academy is celebrating its third birthday tomorrow (Friday), with Ms Solomon saying the studio had grown from 80 students when she first opened to 420 dancers at the end of last term.
