SOUTHERN Football League and the City of Casey have each been given $20,000 to tackle road trauma in the community.
Awarded under the Transport Accident Commission’s Community Road Safety Grants, the money will help Casey Council to increase compliance with speed limits during school times by placing a school alert mobile trailer outside schools.
The Southern Football League will use the money to encourage behavioural change in young and potential drivers involved with the football clubs.
The TAC is encouraging community groups to prepare applications for projects that target a specific local road safety problem.
Funding is available for community-based projects conducted by not-for-profit groups that identify a problem and provide a solution.
The next round of applications will be accepted up until 6 August. For details you can visit website www.tacsafety.com.au
