A REPORT by the Commonwealth Bank has revealed that the City of Casey is the most popular municipality for first home buyers in Melbourne.
The ‘affordable locations for first home buyers’ report showed that the highest number of home sold to first home buyers was in Casey.
During the past six month’s of 2009, 694 first home sales were made in Casey, with 659 of these houses and 35 units. More than 10 per cent of the 6694 first homes sold in Melbourne were in Casey.
The average price of a first home in Melbourne was $345,757.
The areas which followed Casey were Whittlesea with 481 first homes sales, Hume with 423 and Brimbank with 390.
