A CHILDCARE centre in Endeavour Hills will use a grant of more than $53,000 to upgrade its existing facilities.
The Endeavour Hills Uniting Church Childcare Centre is one of 223 services across the state to receive a grant for renovation and refurbishment.
Director at the centre Kathy Mellodew said $53,845 would be spent on painting and putting artificial grass and rubber rocks in the playground.
“This funding is brilliant,” she said.
The Endeavour Hills Uniting Church Childcare Centre has been running for 25 years.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan said the renovation and refurbishment works at the centre had been identified as important to help the centre maintain, grow and expand services to meet the needs of families in the area.
“These grants will help our local kinders be safer and healthier with more modern amenities for our kids, making early childhood a greater experience for all,” he said.
Timbarra Kinder in Berwick, Autumn Place Kindergarten in Doveton, Doveton Uniting Church Child Care Kindergarten and the Narre Warren Central Children’s Centre were also successful in receiving renovation and refurbishment grants.
Narre Warren Central Children’s Centre will receive $30,000 towards installing blinds and air conditioning and a verandah to create functional indoor space.
