CASEY mayor Lorraine Wreford met with mayors from across metropolitan Melbourne recently to discuss a range of issues facing the state now and into the future.
The Metropolitan Mayors Forum, which represents 31 municipalities, was hosted by Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle to provide a united local government voice.
Cr Wreford said the forum provided an opportunity to discuss how the councils across Victoria would work together to meet the infrastructure needs of a growing population.
“Local government is at the forefront of planning and an integrated approach towards growth, urban intensification and planning will be imperative as Melbourne grows,” she said.
