THE spotlight will be on environmental issues over the next few months with a series of ‘Green Film Nights’ around Casey and Cardinia.
In a bid to bring together community members to network and learn about environmental issues, a number of ‘green films’ will be played around the two municipalities.
City of Casey manager waste management Michael Jansen said the movie sessions aimed to raise awareness of the many environmental issues facing us all as a society, in a relaxed and entertaining way.
“There was a great response from the community to the first series of Green Films,” he said.
“It is encouraging that so many residents are concerned about their environmental impact and are seeking to better understand the world’s environmental issues.”
A range of free movies will be shown between May and November 2010.
A movie covering the ‘Transition Towns’ movement and its implementation will be shown at meeting room 7 City of Casey Civic Centre, Magid Drive Narre Warren, on 2 June at 7pm.
The Thin Green Line, a film on the differing roles that rangers around the world have, will be screened at the meeting room at the Emerald Library on 31 July at 12noon.
For more information on other green films contact City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
