NARRE Warren teenager Alisha Rutherford is vying to become the Face of V8 Supercars in Australia.
The 19-year-old local pharmacy manager was one of 12 women selected from around Australia from the Miss V8 Supercars auditions to contest the first round of judging at Winton Motor Raceway on the weekend.
She was chosen in the top six and will now be judged online by Australia.
She is calling on the local community to support her endeavour and vote for her online so she can go to the V8 Supercars Grand Final in Sydney in December.
The girls were judged in three categories at Winton – photographic, interviewing and the Miss V8 Supercars Swimwear judging.
Alisha said she was very proud to be chosen in the top six.
“I also consider myself lucky to have been given the opportunity to go to Winton … I had so much fun,” she said.
She urged the community to jump online and vote to give her the opportunity to go further in the competition.
“I would love the chance to get out there and show people what I’ve got to offer,” she said.
“To win the Face of V8 Supercars and to travel the world representing the country would be amazing.”
Alisha has lived in Narre Warren her whole life.
She studied journalism at Monash University in 2009 and received credits in her diploma.
She is part of a talent agency, but the Miss V8 competition is her first experience in an event of its kind.
The local beauty has done some photo shoots with Sassy Soul and Colour Me Happy in Pakenham, but hoped the competition would help launch her career in modelling.
To vote for Alisha to become of the face of V8 Supercars vote online at www.MissV8 Supercars.com.au. Voting closes Sunday 20 June.
