SALVATION Army volunteers were out in force in Casey last weekend for the National Red Shield Appeal Doorknock.
Berwick Salvation Army captain Troy Pittaway told the News around 30 volunteers collected $14,000, by rattling tins at Bunnings Warehouse Narre Warren, Westfield Fountain Gate and the intersection collection point at Clyde Rd and High St in Berwick.
“We’re really pleased and happy with the amount raised,” Mr Pittaway said.
“There were a lot of coins by the end of the weekend.”
Mr Pittaway said the people of Berwick were happy to donate their time and money to the appeal.
