THE City of Casey celebrated the eighth anniversary of Timor Leste independence last month, with a flag-raising ceremony to pay tribute to the courage and work of the East Timorese people in their struggle for independence. A Wall of Global Friendships now displays the district of Ermera friendship city plaque, and a mayoral reception last October acknowledged the support of schools in Casey to schools in East Timor.
