POLICE have charged a 38-year-old Cranbourne South man with murder.
The charges relate to an incident on 12 September last year when a 24-year-old man was assaulted on the side of the South Gippsland Highway near Huon Road in Cranbourne North.
It is believed the charge relates to the death of Hampton Park man Scott Shaw, who died after being attacked by youths wielding baseball bats.
