CARERS in the Casey community can benefit form a Carers Card, entitling them to hundreds of offers in recognition for their work.
The Carers Card will offer holders free public transport on Sundays, along with two return off-peak travel vouchers for travel within Victoria.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan announced the news last week, saying the card was a practical way to recognise the hard work carers did.
“Their dedication to caring for loved ones and others who may suffer a disability, chronic medical condition or a mental illness, means many people can still live with dignity and get on with their lives,” he said.
Applications for the Victorian Carer Card are open. Discounts at participating businesses begin in Victoria on 1 August.
Registration for businesses wishing to be members of the Victorian Carer Card Program are ongoing.
