School speed zones back

POLICE are warning Casey drivers that school speed zones are back as students return to school this week.
After two weeks off, the limits will be back in force and motorists are urged to obey the limit or pay the price.
Melbourne Traffic Management Unit Acting Senior Sergeant Phil Robinson said drivers needed to take responsibility for the safety of children around schools.
“The 40km/h speed limits around schools are there for a reason and drivers need to be aware that children have limited road sense,” he said.
“There are no excuses for speeding, especially in a school zone.”
School zones operate between 8am and 9.30am and 2.30pm and 4pm on school days.
