60 years of bliss

By Kelly Yates
NARRE Warren’s George and Mary Dingwall celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Tuesday by enjoying a buffet lunch with their family.
Mr Dingwall said it felt “great” to reach 60 years of marriage.
“It doesn’t happen very often,” he laughed.
“Now I’m just waiting for our 70th wedding anniversary,” he said.
The pair first met in 1948 while in Scotland and then married two years later.
They moved from Scotland to Australia in 1966, and have since visited their home town once for a holiday.
Mr and Mrs Dingwall have three children and four grandchildren.
Mr Dingwall enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.
“We also used to travel to Echuca a lot,” he said. “But these days we don’t get out that much.”
It was love at first sight for Mr Dingwall, who says he knew from the moment he saw Mrs Dingwall that he’d marry her.
