STAR News Group is about to launch a new magazine to service the business community in Melbourne’s rapidly growing south east.
And the company, which publishes the News, is offering free subscriptions to business owners.
Ian Exner from DHTS Home Theatre Systems in Berwick was one of the first to jump on board and subscribe to Business South East. He is excited about what’s to come.
“I think it’s a great way of advertising a business, since a lot of businesses these days are run by individuals,” he said.
Mr Exner runs his business from home, installing home theatre systems to domestic households and audio visual to commercial businesses. A large number of his clientele are other businesses and restaurants that require the use of technologies such as sound systems.
“The Business South East magazine can help businesses like mine be noticed by more people in the business community,” he said. “It can help expand my contacts and clients list. So it really doesn’t matter if more business owners read the magazine, or the general public. This magazine covers both bases.”
Editor Garry Howe said Business South East, to be published at least eight times a year, would be a glossy A4 magazine providing a one-stop shop for news, support, advice, advertising and business opportunities.
“Each edition of Business South East will help you keep tabs on your competitors, customers and suppliers, as well as opening up opportunities for new and increased business within the south east. Our aim is to deliver news and information of commercial value.
“We will focus on local people and local companies making news, and the leaders spearheading the south east’s astonishing growth.
“Business South East will help keep the business community up to speed with the latest strategies to drive their business forward. We will also provide businesses with ideas, solutions and advice delivered by recognised, credible specialists and experts in their fields.”
The magazine will not be using a scattergun approach to distribution. It will be direct mailed to an exclusive list of more than 5000 commercial leaders, industry heavyweights and business owners across the south eastern suburbs – getting into the hands of the very people who continue to make the south east a powerhouse in the Victorian economy.
For more information on the Business South East magazine, due out in October, and to register for your free copy, visit www.businesssoutheast.com.au or call editor Garry Howe on 5945 0624 or advertising executive Di Hall on 5945 0606 or 0417 518 055.
