APPLICATIONS for the 2010 Graffiti Clean-up Community Grants are now open.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley urged the City of Casey to take advantage of the program, which aims to improve community safety by cleaning up graffiti in local neighbourhoods.
Grants of up to $25,000 will fund initiatives with councils, partnered with members of the community and groups, to clean-up graffiti.The program supports the Graffiti Prevention Act, which started in 2008. The Act introduced graffiti-specific offences with tough penalties including up to two years’ imprisonment and fines of up to $28,668 for marking graffiti.
