HEAVY rain and strong winds ripped through Endeavour Hills on Tuesday night, with SES crews receiving around 20 call outs.
Narre Warren SES controller Tim Howell said it was a “busy” night for the local crews.
“The heavy rain and strong wind gusts came through between 6.30pm and 7pm,” he said.
“The intensity of the rain and wind came from nowhere. We had a light storm warning. The five or 10 minutes of downpour caused a fair amount of damage.”
Mr Howell said James Cook Drive was one of the worst hit streets in Endeavour Hills.
“Some houses lost tiles, anywhere from three or four to 40 or 50,” he said.
The crews were out cleaning up until 4am yesterday (Wednesday).
