School’s interim boss

By Bridget Cook
Mr Robertson replaces the Narre Warren South College’s Foundation Principal Geoff McLay.
Mr Robertson believes relationships are at the heart of a truly excellent school, and said he was already delighted with the culture at ICA College.
He said his personal mantra, ‘providing opportunities to experience success every day’, reflects the schools vision to ensure students are individually challenged to reach their absolute learning potential.
“I’m excited to be leading in such a vibrant and positive school where staff are truly valued and students are strongly encouraged to optimise their learning opportunities in such a caring environment,” Mr Robertson said this week.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know members of the ICA Casey College community over the coming weeks.”
Mr Robertson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the school, having been in the education industry for more than 20 years.
He has held key leadership positions at various leading independent schools including Haileybury College, Yarra Valley Grammar School, Mount Scopus College and was most recently the principal of St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School in Gippsland.
He holds both a Bachelor of Education and Masters in Educational Studies in which he focused his studies on pastoral care and welfare of children.
He has served as the president of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders, on the Football Federation Victoria Coaches Standing Committee and as executive of the Australian Heads of Independent Schools Association.
Mr Robertson has been recognised for his efforts, having won an award in 2007 for his contribution to teaching and awarded a Williamson Fellowship in the Williamson Community Leadership Program, in 2008.
