Cronin heads up Clyde

By Justin Robertson
MATT Cronin has just been appointed the new head coach at Clyde Tennis Club.
The amateur tennis player turned coach, has been teaching tennis full-time for the past four years and Cronin said he is looking forward to the challenging experience of grooming Clyde’s young brigade of future tennis stars.
“I’ve always had a passion for tennis and now more so teaching the sport to others is very fulfilling,” he said. “I just want to help build the club and get the younger kids involved in such a clean, safe and non-contact sport.”
The new season starts next month and Cronin is expecting the arrival of some new players that will help bolster the six junior teams and four senior teams at Clyde.
“For this year, I expect to develop some of the younger kids, but have high hopes the senior players can enjoy some success at the top of the ladder,” the 30-year-old said. “But either way, I just want all the players to enjoy their tennis and have fun.”
