Spring into Action

CASEY families are encouraged to ‘Spring into Action’ during Children’s Week by attending one of the free family activities being held throughout Casey this October.
City of Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford said Children’s Week provided families with an opportunity to participate in some fun activities and enjoy the simple pleasure of being parents.
City of Casey children’s services manager Virginia Lloyd said this year’s theme for Children’s Week was biodiversity, and at the free activity days being held in Doveton and Cranbourne, children could view wild animals, interact with farm animals and take a walk through a butterfly gazebo.
Visitors can enjoy music and dancing provided by children’s entertainer Paul Jamieson at 10.30am, face painting, a free sausage sizzle and information stalls.
Children in Casey have also been working with artist, Andrea Hopgood, to create a giant interactive caterpillar which will be on display at the events.
‘Spring into Action’ is a partnership project between City of Casey, Southern Health, Good Beginnings, Cranbourne Communities for Children and Doveton Primary School.
