CONSTRUCTION of Timbarra P-9 College’s new sporting facilities is almost complete.
Narre Warren North MP, Luke Donnellan, took a tour with local basketballers of the new basketball courts and all were clearly impressed.
Once construction is complete, students at Timbarra P-9 College, local sporting clubs and community groups will be able to take advantage of new facilities including new courts, a resource centre and new multi function and ancillary areas.
“The new courts will provide local teams like the Oatlanders with much-needed playing space.” Mr Donnellan said.
A $10 million Whole Government Project, with majority funded by the Labor Federal and Victorian Governments, and contributions from the City of Casey, will expand and provide the new facilities.
Mr Donnellan added that the courts were a great example of funding going towards community-based teams and promoting active lifestyles for children.
The new facilities make up Stage 1 of the new Timbarra P-9 College expansion, with Stage 2 providing rooms for Years 7-9, which will include science, technology, drama, music and food tech areas.
