STUDENTS of Peter Petruccelli Art Studios will launch their fifth exhibition of paintings in Berwick on Friday.
The exhibition, to be opened by City of Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford, will continue until 2 November at the Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick.
Peter Petruccelli is a well-known local artist who studied at the Victorian National Gallery School of Art now known as Victorian College of the Arts.
He paints at his studio located at 102 Stoney Creek Road, Upper Beaconsfield, to prepare for his exhibitions that are held at Steps Gallery, Carlton, where he conducts art classes for adults in oil or pastel medium.
Peter’s experience and knowledge enables him to assist each student individually from beginners to experienced painters and the year is divided into four terms.
Each term has a different emphasis and can include plain air at Phillip Island, Lysterfield Lake and other rural settings, still lives are set up in the studio using dramatic lighting effects, with each student given a separate subject to work with.
Each year Peter offers a scholarship for a term of free tuition to one of his students and also supports the local Berwick Artists Society.
Peter provides the society with an annual scholarship for a free term of tuition nominated by the society.
