NARRE Warren Primary School students will have a place to play during recess and lunchtime – if the Coalition wins the upcoming State Election.
Shadow Minister for Education Martin Dixon, who visited the school yesterday (Wednesday), said the State Government had let the students down, removing their play area to make way for a new integrated learning facility to replace outdated and obsolete portable buildings.
He said, if elected, the Coalition would transfer ownership of the portables to the school so that they can sell them off and create new space for the playground as well as buy a new playground with a funding promise of $20,000.
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North Michelle Frazer brought the issue to Mr Dixon’s attention and said the announcement was a win for common sense.
“Children need to have a safe place at recess and lunchtime to run around and have fun,” she said.
State Government officials, when contacted on Wednesday, did not provide a response before deadline.
