A RE-ELECTED Brumby Labor Government would provide $500,000 to the extension of the Berwick Springs Pavilion.
The extended pavilion will include more change rooms, a large multi-purpose community meeting room, additional kitchen and a storeroom.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said that sport was a big priority for the Brumby Labor Government.
“I am proud that we have a great sporting community here in Casey,” Ms Graley said.
“We will make this investment in excellent sporting facilities so the attractive Berwick Springs lifestyle is made even better for local families.”
Berwick Springs Sporting Club President Matthew Osborne said that such a large amount of money was welcome and very much appreciated by the club.
“The whole extension project is a great win for the community and community organisations,” Mr Osborne said.
“The Berwick Springs Pavilion is totally committed to facilitating the needs of the community and making it available to schools as much as Casey council will allow.”
Mr Osborne also said that as the City of Casey was one of the fastest growing areas, it was imperative that this sort of support was being committed to this aspect of the community.
“The funding ensures that we get resources, it ensures that we can assist local schools, other local community organisations and it especially ensure that we can move forward with plans for the Access for All Ability program,” Mr Osborne said.
