NARRE Warren has its own grid girl.
Alisha Rutherford went to Sydney last week to compete in the grand final of Miss V8 Supercar Australia and came seventh out of 18 girls.
“I was really happy with how I went,” Miss Rutherford said.
She flew to Sydney and had a few days of rehearsals before taking part in the grand final show at the Sydney Telstra 500.
Miss Rutherford’s parents and younger brother flew to Sydney to watch her parade swimwear and eveningwear on Saturday before the winner was announced.
“That was the big one on Saturday night,” she said.
On Sunday all the contestants got a lap of the track in BMWs before the start of the race and made corporate suite visits during the day.
The Narre Warren resident entered the competition after her talent agency put her details forward and she thought it might provide a ‘helping hand’ to get into the modelling industry.
