POLICE are investigating an assault on a 16-year-old boy in Cranbourne.
A teenager was walking home from a party with his girlfriend between 1am and 1.15am on 12 December last year.
The pair were walking through Lawson Poole Reserve when the boy was punched in the back of the head and thrown to the ground.
The victim was then punched several times while the attackers tried to steal his backpack. His wallet, containing personal cards and $50 cash, was stolen during the attack.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to his jaw and mouth as a result of the assault.
There was no description of the attackers.
