CASEY residents can achieve their new year’s resolutions of improving their fitness thanks to the establishment of the Australian National Preventive Health Agency.
The YMCA teams at Casey ARC, Casey RACE and Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre have welcomed the agency, which was formed on 1 January.
Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre manager Matthew Spencer said all YMCA-managed facilities in the Casey Community had been busy since the start of 2011.
“It’s great to see both new and familiar faces coming in, motivated to make healthy changes to their life,” Mr Spencer said.
Federal Health and Ageing Minister Nicola Roxon said health-related New Year’s resolutions, such as getting active and eating well, would be promoted by the Australian National Preventive Health Agency.
“We know that preventative health measures work, that’s why we are supporting Australians who are ready to get active, eat well and adopt healthier lifestyles,” Ms Roxon said.
The YMCA-managed facilities – Casey ARC, Casey RACE and Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre – are supporting the Federal Government’s preventative health initiatives by offering membership incentives to get started in 2011.
