THE transition for the 36 prep students at Brentwood Park Primary School was a smooth one.
Prep teacher Tanya Lucas said their first day went very well, and there were no tears or problems at all.
“I was a teacher and a parent and I didn’t have tears,” Ms Lucas said.
“It was a very happy adjustment.”
The day was filled with fun and games, with the children doing play-based developmental learning and being shown where everything was through a tour of the school.
“The kids met their new friends in their grade,” Ms Lucas said.
“They also went outside with friends for snack play and lunch play.”
The children have loved going to school, and Ms Lucas said the transition was smooth because of the school’s play-based learning curriculum.
“It’s not as huge a leap as it used to be,” she said.
“It’s just a sideways step now.”
