More than 40 people and organisations were recognised at the event on Saturday for their exemplary efforts during the floods.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley hosted a morning tea with a number of fellow State and Federal Members of Parliament including Leader of the Labor Party Daniel Andrews, Cranbourne MP Jude Perera, Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan, South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Lee Tarlamis and Latrobe MP Laura Smyth.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to honour those who have given so much of their time, resources and generous spirit to support those who have lost so much during these terrible floods,” Ms Graley said.
“I would like to thank the Country Fire Authority, police, SES units and the Red Cross for their efforts. The men and women of these fine organisations provided invaluable assistance during these floods,” she said.
There has been a significant amount of donations from a variety of individuals and organisations in our community to assist those affected by the floods.
The Victorian Punjabi Federation has donated over $3000 to both the Victorian and Queensland flood relief organisations.
Ms Graley said she encouraged all those within the community to continue to assist those affected by these floods.
“Your efforts are greatly appreciated by us all,” Ms Graley said.
