Speeding drunk

A HAMPTON Park man had his car impounded after he was clocked doing 179km/h while drunk at Pakenham early on Saturday morning.
The 28-year-old P-plater was intercepted by Cardinia Highway Patrol members on the Princes Freeway at 2.18am.
He was clocked doing 179km/h in a 100km/h zone.
A breath test then revealed he was also more than twice the legal alcohol limit, returning a reading of .118.
His 2007 Ford Falcon ute was impounded for 48 hours.
Police said it was expected he would be charged with drink driving and excessive speed.
