MARAMBA Primary School this week celebrated more than 100 students from Years 3 to 6 who have official leadership positions.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan visited the school to help honour the students for their achievements.
Assistant principal Sue Peterken said there were a number of leadership profiles which greatly benefit the school.
Besides school, house, vice and junior captains, Maramba Primary School also has environmental and arts captains. Ms Peterken said the Student Representative Council was overseen by four Year 6 SRC leaders who guided the other 11 representatives through meetings.
The four ‘meeters and greeters’ welcome visitors to the school and assist in settling new students into the school throughout the year. Ms Peterken said more than 50 peer mediators worked in the playground in the Prep to Year 2 areas to assist the younger students with conflict resolution and show them how to get along well with others.
“The scope of this leadership profile enables a great many students to meaningfully participate in the successful running of the school and gives them a range of opportunities for personal development,” Ms Peterken said.
