Tough guys’ kitchen capers

AN INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed, home grown puppetry group is on the way to Casey.
Hilarious children’s puppetry show Men of Steel will be performing at the Hallam Community Theatre in July.
Three mad chefs animate two cookie cutters and a host of familiar kitchen utensils and food in a puppet extravaganza of epic, yet domestic proportions.
Featuring explosive popcorn, watermelon killing and the felling of a broccoli forest, the cooks of Men of Steel whip up three uproarious, mess-filled episodes back to back.
City of Casey manager of Community Strengthening Janette Green encouraged local parents to go along to the show.
“The show will be one of the highlights of the City of Casey Winter Arts Festival,” she said.
“It’s a really fun show for parents and kids, providing great holiday entertainment at a really affordable price.”
Voted one of the Top 7 shows for children in 2007 by Time Out London, Men of Steel will perform two of their three-episode shows on 13 July at the Hallam Community Theatre.
They will be at 11am and 2pm. Cost for adults is $12.50, concession $10, child $7.50 and family with two adults and two children or one adult and three children is $25. Places for the performances are limited and bookings are essential.
For credit card bookings, call 9771 6666 or for further information contact City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 2500.
