Burglars hit Hallam

By Lia Bichel
NUMEROUS businesses at a Hallam industrial estate were robbed during a spate of burglaries last month.
Acting police sergeant Paul Stow said police believe the incidents were linked.
“Since 9 May to very recently, about 20 to 20 factories have been hit,” he said. “There have been different modes of entries, from doors being jemmied to windows being smashed. Petty cash was stolen from registers and the odd computer.”
Acting Sergeant Stow said the burglaries were committed during the evening or early morning and urged people to take proper precautions to ensure their businesses were not hit.
“We are asking all owners to be vigilant,” he said. “Make sure the business is locked up and well lit and make sure alarms are set.”
Anyone who sees suspicious behaviour is urged to contact police and anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Acting Sergeant Paul Stow on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
