Can-do council

I WISH to refer to a letter to the editor in last week’s paper.
Steve Beardon writes yet again to criticise councillors who give so much of their spare time to serve their community.
Further, from a male’s perspective, I would not single out a female councillor who is a sole parent raising a child with a profound disability and someone who clearly understands what hardship and struggle is all about.
Cr Amanda Stapledon works very hard in representing those in her community.
She also works tirelessly to improve the lives of those with a disability; a very neglected area that now has great focus in Casey due to her efforts.
We are all entitled to provide constructive criticism about councillors from time to time but to fixate in such a way as Mr Beardon does, reflects more on him than it does on others.
The councillors in Casey do a good job and we have a lot to be thankful for with all the services they provide for the community.
