HARD rubbish and green waste collection in the City of Casey will be held over the first three weeks in July.
Residents in Casey will receive a brochure advising of the scheduled collection date for their specific areas and detailing the types of waste that can be collected.
Material must be out by 6am on Monday of the collection week and will be collected by separate trucks during the week.
Items should not exceed 55kg and cannot be longer than 1.5metres (5 ft) in length. Other materials not accepted include renovation or building materials, tyres, batteries, chemicals, unwrapped or broken glass and bricks.
Acceptable materials should be stacked into three piles as follows:
General hard waste consisting of household furniture, carpet, mattresses, wrapped and marked pieces of glass and pieces of timber up to 1.5 metres in length.
Green waste consisting of up to five bundles of cuttings neatly tied with twine or string, cutting which are no greater than 75mm in diameter and must be bundles, and all vines, grass and weeds must be placed in boxes or paper bags with dirt shaken off.
Steel and metal items consisting of scrap metal no longer than 1.5 metres, small electrical appliances and e-waste, white goods must have their doors removed and paint tins must be empty and have lids removed.
