Tap grief and trauma relief

By Lia Bichel
A LYNBROOK resident is inviting Casey residents to attend free workshops in Berwick to learn how to rid themselves of stress, grief, trauma and pain.
Josie Ruberto first learned about Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as tapping of EFT, four years ago and said it has positively changing her life.
EFT is based on acupuncture, but instead of using needles, the technique uses fingertips.
“A friend sent me a link about EFT and I was really interested in it,” she said.
“I started using it and found the results to be amazing. Three years ago, I decided to become a practitioner.”
Ms Ruberto said she taught clients techniques so that they could practise at home and do not need to keep making appointments with a practitioner.
Ms Ruberto said her clients, as well as her own mother, have benefited from EFT.
Her father died in February, but Ms Ruberto said she and her mother found peace and freedom when he passed because they had used EFT in the lead up to his death.
In April, Ms Ruberto’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, but EFT helped her mother deal with the news.
“Tapping has empowered her to live her life,” she said. “It’s amazing. It’s as though she has forgotten she has it. She is not concerned.”
Ms Ruberto said she encouraged people to attend the workshops in July and August.
“Being able to empower others to empower themselves is empowering for me,” she said.
“Anyone who has suffered long enough should come to the workshops to get through issues they have been struggling with.”
There are two free workshops consisting of two sessions each. The first workshop will be held on 21 and 28 July and the second on 11 and 18 August.
The sessions will be held at the Brentwood Park Community Centre, 21A Bemersyde Drive.
Registration is from 9 to 9.15am and the workshop is from 9.15am until 12.15pm.
Bookings are essential and must be made by 19 July for the July workshop and by 9 August for the 18 August workshops. For inquiries and bookings, phone Josie Ruberto on 0409 173 96611.
