True flair for fashion

By Danielle Galvin
MODELS and fashion designers in the City of Casey are invited to take part in the annual runway and twilight market hosted by the Hampton Park Networking Group.
The fashion show is coming up at the Arthur Wren Hall in Hampton Park in September.
Interest in the community event has grown steadily each year and last year it was a huge success.
Organiser Wendy Murphy said in 2010 around 300 people enjoyed the fashion event.
“Last year, I had something to prove. We won the Casey Community Activity of the Year 2010 and this year we want 500 people to come along,” she said.
Businesses wishing to have a stall at the event are invited to contact Wendy to register.
Fashion designers wanting to showcase their work can also get involved in the annual event.
“We’re encouraging people to whip up an outfit of any description to enter the competition. Their designs will be seen on the catwalk and hopefully will be displayed at the Hampton Park Library prior to the event,” she said.
Upcoming models are also invited to register their interest for a chance to strut their stuff on the runway.
“Anyone wanting to model can give me a call. We’ve also got $1000 worth of giveaways and people can buy dinner very inexpensively at the canteen,” she said.
The free fashion event is on Friday 23 September from 6.30pm until 9pm.
For more information, call Wendy on 0419 592 689.
