Friends gather for Frog Hollow

EACH year, the Friends of Frog Hollow host a national tree day to plant trees, shrubs and grasses along Eumemmerring Creek.
Various community groups help out, from scout groups to bushwalking groups.
This year, the event will be on Sunday 31 July and will start at 10am and finish at 2pm.
Group secretary Ray Darbritz says it’s a fun day out for family, friends and neighbours.
“We will provide the plants and the tools you just need to come along,” Ray said.
The council provides the plants and prepares the ground to make planting easy for anyone wanting to come.”
Last year, more than 60 people turned up to the event.
This year, the Friends of Eumemmerring Creek and the Friends of Frog Hollow will work together to plant indigenous plants along the banks of the creek. They are encouraging residents to join in.
Anyone wishing to come to the event can meet the groups at the Brian J Carroll Reserve in Eumemmerring.
Watering cans, buckets, gardening tools and equipment will be provided as well as a free BBQ lunch.
