A LOCAL author spread her story about overcoming a drug addiction at a successful book signing at Collins Booksellers/ABC Centre in Berwick on the weekend.
Kerryn Redpath, author of Out of the Darkness, said she sold many books and received a lot of interest in her school anti-drug and alcohol presentation.
Ms Redpath said her presentation, which she has been sharing with senior school students in both public and private colleges, had a strong anti-drug and alcohol message, which she hoped sent a stark warning to as many young people as possible.
Ms Redpath said she was recently told by one man that he had ended his four-year addiction to heroin after reading her book.
“The response I have had to my book has far exceeded what I ever expected.” she said.
“I made a huge mistake when I was young and naïve, and I paid the price. My passion now is to use my vast knowledge of the destructive power of drug addiction, to warn others.”
