Aligned for big opening

By Emma Sun
THE Narre Community Learning Centre officially opened its new training facility recently, witnessed by tutors and students past and present.
The new building boasts computer labs with smart boards, TV screens in almost every room and a modern kitchen and will primarily be used for VET programs.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes was invited to unveil the plaque.
She said Casey council and the Narre Community Learning Centre has had a long and productive association.
“We’ve worked together in collaboration on a range of different projects to benefit the community and I am so impressed by the work that is done there by the staff and volunteers,” Ms Balmes said.
“This new centre is a wonderful addition to a first class organisation, which lives up to the high standards of the amazing staff and volunteers who will be using it every day.”
The centre’s chief executive officer Wayne Hewitt said the new building was the result of a huge team effort from everyone involved.
“Everything aligned beautifully and the end result is a fantastic asset for the community,” Mr Hewitt said.
“This will allow the learning centre to offer a greater range of courses and equip us to better meet the needs of the community.”
