Stadium star

By Emma Sun
HAMPTON Park Secondary College student Tanya Dundovic is the proud recipient of Etihad Stadium’s Medall-ion Club seats after writing a winning essay about the stadium.
The Year 7 girl beat about 90 other students from 55 schools for the prize, which also includes a visit to areas normally not available to the general public.
Students who toured the stadium were invited to write a 500-word essay about their experiences and Tanya put herself in the shoes of the crowd, the players and the coach.
She also wrote about the feelings she had when she was in the various areas, including the tribunal room, the grounds and even the change rooms.
“Etihad is an amazing ground and I learnt and saw lots and had moments that were unreal,” Tanya wrote.
“The feeling I got was a feeling that I have never had in my life but this was the best feeling.
“I also had one of the best experiences of my life and I would do it again for anything.”
Tanya said she is very pleased about winning the competition, as football has always been a passion for her.
“As I got called up to the principal’s office, I had a feeling I was in trouble but when the principal announced that I had won, I was in shock, but excited at the same time,” she said.
“I can’t wait until Sunday to go behind the scenes and also sit at the Medallion Club. I just can’t wait!”
