State flags on offer

VICTORIAN flags are being distributed to schools, community groups and organsiations from the State Government.
The flags are available from Eastern Victoria MP Philip Davis’s office.
“Victoria was the first Australian Colony to have its own flag, with the first Victorian flag reported as flown in February 1870,” Mr Davis said.
“Victorian flags are available from my electorate office, and I encourage representatives of groups and organisations to contact my office to confirm eligibility and receive a free flag.”
Approved bodies to receive the flags include schools, Scouts, Girl Guides, voluntary youth or sporting organisations, senior citizens clubs, ex-service organisations, Country Women’s Association, Lions clubs, Rotary clubs, Jaycees clubs, voluntary philanthropic organisations of major community stature, ethnic organisations, and voluntary sporting organisations of major community stature.
