A BERWICK resident is warning people to double-check the information on their electricity bills before making any payments.
Fiona Berkholz said she had intended to pay her Tru Energy bill, due 7 September, but while she was on the phone giving her credit card details she realised the bill was dated for the period 16 February to 31 March.
“TruEnergy was going to let me pay the bill without telling me there was a problem with the billing system,” Ms Berkholz said.
“It was only when I said the date was wrong on the bill that they informed me there was a problem with the system and that I had already paid the latest bill.”
Ms Berkholz warned Casey residents to review their bills before they paid them in case they were also affected by the fault in the system.
TruEnergy did not respond to requests for comment before the News went to print.
