ACTIVE residents raced to the opening of a new indoor sports centre at Kambrya College recently.
Life. Be in it, Berwick features two new basketball courts which complement the facility’s existing basketball and netball court.
Manager Shannon Thiel said the new facility had already been in use by local athletes.
“We have already started some competitions and programs for our four sports – basketball, netball, futsal or indoor soccer, and badminton,” he said.
The open day was attended by NBL basketballer Darryl Corletto and Melbourne Vixen Micaela Wilson.
It featured prizes, giveaways, exhibition games and free come and try clinics over both juniors and seniors.
