By Lia Bichel
AN ENDEAVOUR Hills man was punched several times and dragged from his father’s car during a violent carjacking on the weekend.
The Endeavour Hills man, 25, was driving his father’s Nissan 300ZX coupe on Sunday when he was approached by a man at the intersection of Hellyer Way and Raymond McMahon Boulevard at 1.50pm.
Police said the man punched the driver several times through the open window, dragged him out of his car and drove off.
Senior Detective David Measham from Dandenong Embona said there was a short police pursuit before the police lost sight of the car.
Police said the man fled on foot after he crashed the stolen car in Lawson’s Way.
He is described as being aged in his mid 20s, and unshaven. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt with a red stripe and a black cap.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Sen Det Measham on 9767 7618.
