THREE outstanding St Kevin’s Primary School students received a special honour from their local Member of Parliament recently.
Students Anna Andronis, Sarah Fahey and Gianmarco Hernandez were named the winners of Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley’s Community Spirit and Leadership Award.
Teachers select award winners who are regarded as having the potential to play a future leadership role in our community.
Each year, Ms Graley presents the award to one Grade 4 student from each primary school in the Narre Warren South electorate, but because the students could not decided one winner, Ms Graley gave the award to three worthy St Kevin’s Primary School students.
Award winners display a range of qualities, including being considerate of others, civic minded and demonstrating initiative,” Ms Graley said.
“Anna, Sarah and Gianmarco have each demonstrated these qualities to their teacher, who have chosen them for this award – congratulations to all three.”
Teachers described Anna as a “caring, welcoming and friendly person towards others” who makes the effort to help people achieve their best and offer advice when needed.
Sarah was described as being a high achieving students with a quiet, yet confident disposition.
“Sarah is an excellent role model for her peers, with her positive attitude and willingness to participate in a range of academic and inter-school pursuits,” her teachers said.
Gianmarco was described as an enthusiastic student who was always willing to learn and led by example in many ways.
“Gianmarco is also a wonderful friend,” his teachers said.
“He looks out for others and has a caring nature.”
